Help shape Preston’s open and green spaces
Thank you to everyone who joined our landscape workshops on 11 and 13 July. It was great to walk around Preston together, explore ideas and hear what people would like to see.
We're now asking everyone in the community to have their say.
Some of these improvements could be delivered as early as this autumn, while others will need additional funding and take more time. That's why it's so important we invest in the things that local people actually want and will use.
Ideas shared so far include more seating and picnic benches, community growing spaces, more trees for shade, colourful planting such as wildflower areas, and road safety improvements including safer crossings and speed measures to make the area more welcoming and enjoyable.
Please click the button below to view the proposals and complete our short survey. Vote for the ideas you'd most like to see and share any additional thoughts or suggestions.
This is an opportunity to make some quick improvements that can test different ideas. These will be pilot projects to find out what is valued by the community, they'll help build the case for further investment, allowing us to deliver even more improvements across the Preston area. So tell us what you want to see.
Update
We're continuing to develop plans for the renewal of Preston and wanted to share an update on the conversations we've been having with the community.
Since July 2025, residents, businesses and community groups have helped us better understand the issues, priorities and aspirations that matter most to local people. Earlier this year, we held a series of events and a public webinar to share how the proposals have evolved in response to feedback, including more detailed plans for the neighbourhood and a first look at the design of the new homes. Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their views.
We have summarised the key themes we heard, and how they are being reflected in the developing proposals, in the newsletter below
What happens next?
This is part of an ongoing conversation with the community, and we'll continue to share updates and opportunities to help shape the proposals as they develop.
We will continue to work directly with those being rehoused into new homes as part of the regeneration programme, so they can help shape the design of their new homes. Existing business owners will also be invited to view the latest plans for the new commercial units and receive updates as the proposals develop.
We are aiming to submit a planning application in 2027, with further engagement planned for later this year. We'll be back in touch with details of future events and opportunities for everyone to get involved.
As a reminder, the FAQs page covers many of the questions raised during recent engagement activities.
Our team, including our dedicated Resident Liaison Officer, is also here to answer your questions and provide guidance and support. If you would like to speak to us, please get in touch using the contact details below. We will continue to work closely with the community as the proposals develop, with ongoing events and engagement opportunities planned, and directly affected residents are being fully supported.

What We Heard & What We’re Doing Next
Thank you for taking part in our Community Consultation in October 2025
You can read the feedback newsletter, posted to all Preston residents in December 2025, by clicking the link below. It summarises what residents told us and outlines the next steps. The feedback has been hugely valuable in helping shape the emerging proposals.
Your feedback reflects a shared ambition to create a neighbourhood that feels safer, greener and easier to get around. We’re now developing plans to deliver these improvements, and we will return in the new year to share the updated proposals, show how your input has shaped them, and give you further opportunities to speak directly with the team. As before, there will be a range of ways for residents to get involved and find out more.

On Wednesday 22 October 2025, we held a public webinar open to anyone who wished to attend, particularly those unable to make the in-person events. The Raven team presented the emerging proposals, followed by a Q&A session.
They also used the session to address misinformation circulating in the community and respond to key questions raised during the pop-up events.

You said, we’re listening...Turning your views and concerns into opportunities for improvement in Preston.
In July 2025, we carried out an inclusive consultation where we shared back what the community had told us in September 2024 and built on those themes by asking more questions.
This gave us a clearer picture of what people like and dislike, what you feel is missing and where improvements could make the biggest difference. The aim is to ensure any future plans are based on your real needs and experiences, not assumptions.
Please click the link below to read the July 2025 Feedback Report. It summarises the key themes raised by people - including homes, shops, green spaces and safety - and explains the opportunities and ambitions we have to address these concerns.
